Tan Responsibly at Pure Esthetics

Both Emily and Joanne are trained and certified to provide a safe tanning experience.

To ensure that you are tanned in safety we implement the following guidlines.

• Controlled Exposure. Our trained operators properly maintain the tanning bed and control your tanning exposure times to minimize your risk of overexposure and sunburn.
• Eye Protection. All tanners are required to use UV protective eyewear, which minimizes the risk of eye injury.
• Proper Evaluation. All clients undergo a comprehensive evaluation, this includes identifying their skin type which tells them how sun-sensitive their skin is. Clients with sun-sensitive skin that cannot tan (Skin Type I) are not permitted to use UV tanning services and should use non-UV spray tanning.
• Sun Sensitivity. Clients must reveal if they are using any photosensitizing medications, which can potentially make a person more susceptible to sunburn.
• Outdoor Education. Our tanning specialists will explain sunburn prevention and the appropriate use of outdoor sunscreen. This information, combined with the fact that a tan is nature’s protection against sunburn, is why indoor tanning clients are up to 81 percent less likely to suffer sunburn outdoors.
• Balance. We explain to our clients the potential risks of overexposure to UV light.
• Sanitation. All our tanning equipment and client areas are cleaned and sanitized by a trained staff member prior to every tanning session.
• Teenagers & Tanning. Clients under the age of 18 must have a parent's written consent prior to tanning at Pure Esthetics.
